In a country where football is king, highlighting other sports is becoming more prevalent. On Aug. 18, a new billboard was revealed, in Liberia, showcasing two members from the Olympic track team.

Where is it located?

On Tubman Boulevard approaching 14th street in Sinkor, observers will notice a new billboard between FuZion D’Afrique restaurant and Orca furniture store. Standing 8 meters tall and 5 meters wide, you cannot miss it. The structure is reminiscent of the collaboration with Telfar Global during the Tokyo 2020 uniform reveal.

When driving towards Central Monrovia, Olympian and 100mh national record holder Ebony Morrison is wearing the performance wear mini shorts, tank, and arm sleeve engineered for competition. On the opposite side, driving away from the city, is two-time Olympian and 100m national record holder, Emmanuel Matadi. Matadi is wearing the track jacket and pants from the 2021 Team Liberia collection.

Performance wear

On Aug. 17, Telfar Global released its latest collection of performance wear which includes 14 new unisex pieces. Last year, Telfar sat down with Go Team Liberia and described the vision of the performance wear collection to be both purposeful and intentional.

“We’re calling our line of athletic wear ‘performance wear’,” Telfar told Go Team Liberia. “For any kind of performance.”

During the World Athletic Championships in Oregon, Matadi and Joseph Fahnbulleh debuted the new sleek, black design in the semi-finals of their respective races.

The athleisure pieces engineered specifically for athletes, are now available “For Everyone.”

The billboard will hopefully create more awareness about the sport, the team, and the strong partnership with Telfar Global. Make sure to stop by and check it out.
