At the end of Liberia’s first civil war, these 6 individuals represented a war torn nation on the largest international sports stage giving the world a different image of resilience and strength. Despite what was going on, love of country allowed them to wear the name and represent Liberia proudly.

Liberia’s 4×100 team completed the race in 40.18 seconds. Grace Ann Dinkins advanced Liberia to the women’s 400m quarter finals with a final time of 52.53 seconds.
